I’m an AI Forward Deployed Engineer, consultant and educator with 14+ years of professional experience. My work covers enterprise data platforms, applied AI, cloud infrastructure and the release and support practices that keep them useful.
How I got here
I began in data analysis and backend systems in 2012. Since then, I have worked through enterprise data science, consulting, regulated-data engineering, business intelligence, platform operations and AI system delivery.
The job has expanded with each role. I can move from an architecture discussion into Python or SQL, trace a failing pipeline, review access boundaries, repair a release workflow and explain the trade-offs to stakeholders who do not share the same technical vocabulary.
I work independently when a problem needs concentrated ownership. In enterprise environments, I collaborate with engineering, security, product, domain and governance teams because those systems require more than one point of view.
Teaching changed my engineering
I have taught graduate statistics, data visualization, dashboards and real-time Python APIs. I have also led workforce programs in data science and data engineering, and organized developer workshops through Google Developer Groups.
A classroom exposes weak explanations quickly. That experience taught me to document decisions, make operating assumptions visible and leave enough context for the next person to understand a system.
How I approach the work
- Start with the operational problem and the team that will own the result.
- Choose the simplest architecture that meets the actual constraints.
- Design access control, monitoring and failure handling with the main workflow.
- Evaluate model output against representative tasks and known failure cases.
- Document decisions so another engineer can operate the system.

What I’m studying now
I started experimenting with software and web technology in 2004. These days I spend that curiosity on self-hosted models, developer tools, distributed systems, cloud economics and the boundary between automated work and human approval.
